Warning! Danger! The “Dirty and Visceral Rock” is invadint all the communication means possible. Since 2003, MONAURAL offers and follow that proposition, a suposed salvation from what they call the "plastic rock" or should we call "pre-fabricated corporative independent brazilian music"?. Tired of watching people swallow all that garbage from the entertainment industry, MONAURAL started to rescue Rock n' Roll in its essence, stoned and impregnated with attitude, noisy and without any censure, thats their commitment. They have always stood for simplicity and sincerity, and that's what you feel when you hear the music or watch one of their gigs, certainly being their most attractive point to people.
MONAURAL was born in the east zone of São Paulo, in some kind of underground room, hot and uncosy, where only Ayuso could stand up, since the room was really small, and that's where they started rocking their first chords. Ayuso, Herik and today Gui Maia continue what started in that same day.
It's six years on the road, with concerts, records and fights. Evertything by the Rock n' Roll and for it. They played with a lot of well-known bands in Brazil, like Cólera, Lobotomia, Zeferina Bomba, Ecos Falsos, La Carne, etc. It doesn't matter where, with who or when, Rock n' Roll is always on top of everything for Monaural.
The band stood independent and launched their works on their own: Monaural (2003), Farsa (ep – 2005) and Expurgo (2008) the last one being produced by *Clayton Martim and **Davi Rodrigues.
On this six years on the road some members passed by the band: “Gualter” was the first bass player who played in the band until 2008 Fernando Saiki*** played the lead guitar before Expurgo was recorded, staying in the band for just a few months. Gui Maia assumed the Bass recently, at the end of 2008 and is doing the difference.
Since then the band follows what we know as "do it yourseld", managing and organizing their own tour for their album, Expurgo, that can be named as their best work until know.
Expurgo's art was made by a known ilustraor and artist of the brazilian underground,****Marcatti.
The album had its virtual launch at the end of 2008 and it's fisical version came out in the dawn of 2009. The shows of Expurgo tour followed in a frenectic rythm. Recently, the band passed by Santa Catarine, doing two gigs in the city of Florianópolis. They were part of the cast of the Grito Rock festival and are confirmed for some more dates, between then the Grito Urbando festival, in Itatiba and the Dosol festiva, in Natal.
The band was commented in several Zines and Blogs especialized in alternative music, with interviews and reviews, and was the center article of the UP magazine 17.
If you don't know MONAURAL, the time has come, now is the time!
